About the wine
Packed full of orchard and white fruit character, flecks of white blossom and dried herbs, all married together by zippy freshness and a steeliness that you don't often find here - this is Gavi di Gavi is about as good as it gets. From the historic heart of what is now quite a large viticultural area, Folli & Benato craft this delicious Piedmontese white wine. A fine pairing for grilled, meaty white fish or some calamari fritti!
About the wine
Gavi is a name that you may well be familiar with, a white wine made from the Cortese grape (maybe a variety you're less familiar with) but it is the town of Gavi that gives its name to this crowd-pleasing style. Unfortunately though, as the style has grown in favour of wine-drinkers, the style has become a little diluted, with growers capitalising on the expansion of the growing area to flatlands that surround the town itself. Folli & Benato have set out to change this and they out down a strong marker with this bottle. Two friends who have spent their professional careers in the wine industry across Europe, their goal is to source the very best that Northern Italy has to offer. Working with small producers who produce wines of regional honesty and typicity, we can't wait to see what comes next.
