After France and Italy, Spain is the third-largest wine-producing country in the world. Much like the former, their winemaking roots run deep and are rich in history. Wine is an integral part of their culture and the country's economy. From region to region there is so much diversity, they take pride in a plethora of interesting, indigenous grape varieties and the warm, dry weather makes it a very hospitable growing climate.

Of all Spain's 70 wine regions, there is no doubt that in terms of Spanish red wines, Rioja is the most famous. Located in Central Northern Spain, these big, bold, oaked, Tempranillo-based wines have become legendary for their power, finesse and incredible ageing ability. Another region esteemed for red wines is Priorat, located just south of Barcelona. Priorat is the only other Spanish wine region to have gained DOCa status in recognition of their superior quality wines.

So whether it be Rioja or Priorat you are after, Sociovino is on hand to help if you are looking for a case of Spanish red wines delivered to your door. Or if you are looking for Spanish white wines, check out the fantastic, family-run Lagar de Costa from Rías Baixas who produce exceptional wines from Spain's native Albariño.
