About the wine
The Sämling Trockenbeerenauslese (TBA for short) is a serious and complex mouthful, and we’re not just talking about the pronunciation. This is the pinnacle of the sweet wine classification and the pinnacle of the dessert wines that we have on offer. It is a magical glass of wine for which descriptors struggle to capture its charm. Notes of orange oil, rosewater, honeyed lemon, apricot juice and almond greet you on the nose. Its one of those noses that you can keep coming back to and smell something different everytime. Once you do eventually taste you’ll be wowed by the absolute completeness of the wine. There is bitter orange at first, but this opens into lychee, mango, coconut, mushroom and fresh vanilla. It’s round and warming and so deliciously sweet but, as with all of Hans Tschida’s dessert wines, it’s so incredibly fresh. It’s the balance, brought by the acidity on the finish that makes this dessert wine world class. Power and elegance battling for first place and thankfully they finish hand in hand.
