About the wine

Marlborough is home to some of the world’s best Sauvignon Blancs and Black Cottage is no exception. This is a classic example of this definitive style: zesty and full of tropical fruit with notes of gooseberry, mandarin and passionfruit. This New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc is dry, zippy and super fresh on the palate with a moreish, saline finish.

Black Cottage Sauvignon Blanc is produced from grapes grown in the Wairau and Awatere valleys, in the region of Marlborough, New Zealand. The beautiful estate is located alongside the Opawa River and is named after the small black cottage where the winemaker resides. The wine is made from 100% Sauvignon Blanc grapes, that are carefully selected and hand-picked from their sustainably farmed vineyards. 2020 was a fantastic vintage in terms of quality for Marlborough. The Sauvignon Blanc grapes were transported to the winery where they were gently pressed, care taken to keep all of that varietal characteristic that Sauvignon Blanc brings. Strictly stainless steel only in the production of this wine, the producers not wanting to do anything to alter the natural characteristics of this charming grape.
