From some of the best vineyards in Buttrio, the grapes are estate-grown and hand-harvested. Fermentation is carried out using selected yeasts in barrique, followed by 24 months of maturation in barrel, including 10 months on the lees to enhance texture and complexity. The wine is then refined in bottle for a further five months before release. Ideal with rich fish dishes, roast poultry, mushroom-based recipes, aged cheeses or refined vegetarian cuisine.
Meroi work with some of the best low-yielding vineyards in Buttrio, Friuli Colli Orientali. Established in the early twentieth century by Domenico Meroi, this family-owned winery has passed through generations. Today, Domenico’s great-grandson, Paolo Meroi, continues the estate’s winemaking tradition, overseeing its expansion to 19 hectares in the Buttrio hills and ushering the estate into a new era with an emphasis on purity and freshness.
