About the wine

A refined and mature Claret at a very good price point from a critically acclaimed vintage. Classic soft St-Emilion red berry fruit, smooth mouthfeel and a liquorice note. Château Chereau is a small family run business making off the radar wines of considerable personality and sense of place.

Vignobles Silvestrini Lussac-Saint-Émilion L'Égerie du Château Chereau 2010 is made from 80% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Franc and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon, grown on limestone and clay-based soils, typical of Saint-Émilion. Only the best grapes from their vineyards in Lussac are reserved for this special cuvée. The vineyards are machine harvested. Fermentation for a 10 to 15 day period in both cement vats and thermo-regulated stainless steel tanks. Malolactic fermentation happens naturally in tank. Periodic pump overs. A pneumatic pressing. The wine is aged in French oak barrels for 12 months. 10,000 bottles were made in 2010.
