Grown organically on the rolling hills that surround the Northern Rhône's famous crus, Les Jardins de Chavagnac is wonderfully fresh, juicy and easy to love. Bursting with blackberries, ripe cherries and wild blueberries, it has all the classic Syrah hallmarks, but in a lighter, more approachable style. A crack of black pepper, a handful of violets and a touch of savoury olive character add complexity without weighing things down. Fans of Rhône wines will be familiar with the name Farge, thanks to the excellent work of Guy Farge and his eponymous Domaine over the past 25 years. Today, his son Thomas takes the reins at the family winery making him the fifth generation Farge at the head of the estate, and he is pointing the wines in a decidedly new direction.
