From some of the best vineyards in Buttrio, the grapes are estate-grown and hand-harvested. Fermentation takes place using selected yeasts in barrique, followed by 12 months of maturation in barrel, including 10 months on the lees to build texture and depth. The wine is then refined in bottle for a further two months before release. Perfect with roast chicken, creamy pasta dishes, grilled lobster or mature alpine cheeses.
Meroi work with some of the best low-yielding vineyards in Buttrio, Friuli Colli Orientali. Established in the early twentieth century by Domenico Meroi, this family-owned winery has passed through generations. Today, Domenico’s great-grandson, Paolo Meroi, continues the estate’s winemaking tradition, overseeing its expansion to 19 hectares in the Buttrio hills and ushering the estate into a new era with an emphasis on purity and freshness.
