An exquisite Cabernet Franc, where notes of sun-soaked strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, and currants dance on the palate. A subtle smokiness intertwines with floral notes of violet, while a delicately herbaceous undertone adds depth. Elegance defines this remarkably smooth and fine Cabernet, exhibiting a magnificent acid tension that elevates the overall tasting experience.
The Cabernet Franc grapes are hand harvested from south-east facing vineyards nestled on the picturesque hills of Buttrio in the Province of Udine. All the grapes cultivated for Clivi's wines are certified organic, reflecting a commitment to sustainable and natural practices.
It is fair to say that Collio is an underrated sub-region within Italy's Friuli Venezia Giulia region in the North East. Losing fans to the more famous Collio Orientali sub-region which sits slightly further north, if you scratch below the surface of Collio you'll discover some amazing producers, doing great things especially with white wines. I Clivi is one such producer and we are incredibly excited to introduce them to you. Family run, minimal intervention, biodynamic principles and the utmost respect for their revered land, Mario Zanusso and the team at I Clivi are producing some of the most varietally expressive whites in the entire Friulian region.
