It is fair to say that Collio is an underrated sub-region within Italy's Friuli Venezia Giulia region in the North East. Losing fans to the more famous Collio Orientali sub-region which sits slightly further north, if you scratch below the surface of Collio you'll discover some amazing producers, doing great things especially with white wines. I Clivi is one such producer and we are incredibly excited to introduce them to you. Family run, minimal intervention, biodynamic principles and the utmost respect for their revered land, Mario Zanusso and the team at I Clivi are producing some of the most varietally expressive whites in the entire Friulian region.

Our selection includes the single varietal Malvasia, produced from 80 year old vines, and two single vineyard Friuliano wines, one in particular named Brazan which is so worth a taste. The winemaker here tends towards natural, but not following any kind of trend, just because that's what they've always done here. With few interventions in the vineyard or the winery, I Clivi believe they produce the most complex, concentrated and expressive wines. Across their range, you'll find a delectable combination of citrus peel, dried and smoked herbs, soft, dough-like savouriness and beautiful, mineral-imbued textures.

I Clivi like to play with lees ageing, they love the reductive and oxidative effects that the dead yeast cells can bring. Couple this with their incredibly expressive grape varieties and you're left with intriguing and complex wines, full of finesse, length and food-pairing possibilities. Discover Collio and the amazing wines produced herein through the lens of I Clivi.
