Ortonese is one of the labels of the famous, quality-driven cooperative, Caldora based in Ortona, Abruzzo. With over 700 producers growing grapes across over 1500 hectares of land, Ortonese wines are produced only from the best grapes and the depth of their production means that the wines are delicious year on year. Found on restaurant lists across the country, you’ll be hard pushed to find these traditional Italian wine styles at better prices.

 

The Ortonese Sangiovese Merlot is an Italian red blend produced from grapes in the sunny climes of Puglia, in Italy’s southeast. Ripe and plummy with a round body and juicy fruit character, this is a scrumptious everyday drinking red, perfect with a steak. The Ortonese Malvasia Chardonnay is an Italian white blend from Abruzzo. Here, the noble Chardonnay grape gives us its roundest best, with plush peach and ripe pear notes. The Malvasia sharpens the wine, giving it a nice herbal undertone making this perfect for a summer salad or some grilled white fish.
