Alto de Mayo winery is located in the heart of Argentina’s leading wine-producing region, Mendoza. It takes its name from the mountain on which the grapes are grown. The climate and landscape here are extreme, with high altitude vineyards and harsh temperatures, but one grape variety, in particular, grows incredibly well, and that is Malbec. Although originally from France, Malbec has found a home in Argentina, and it is now more widely grown and better known for its connection with Argentina.

Malbec is Alto de Mayo’s signature wine and a true example of this wonderful variety growing in its element. With lots of sun exposure and protection from the surrounding mountains, Malbec thrives, allowing the grapes to really ripen and concentrate to produce these full-bodied and powerful wines, abundant in juicy ripe fruit. Alto de Mayo Malbec is extremely easy drinking and a winning wine for those who love bold and big flavours. Plum, blackcurrant, dark cherry, with a hint of chocolate, full-bodied, soft texture and silky tannins.
