About the wine

From the sunny coastal vineyards of Sicily, comes this fantastic Italian Syrah wine. Rich with black berry fruits, dark plum, balsam, and a sweet peppery spice, it is full-bodied, very easy drinking, smooth and well rounded.

The Syrah grape variety is originally from France but today we find it across the globe, even in far reaches such as Australia. This is because it is a particularly adaptable variety, with a lot of potential, thriving in a variety of climates and soils. It was first introduced into Sicily in the '90s and fast became popular as an incredible match for the poor soils and hot, dry climate, much like in Australia. Cantine Cellaro is a cooperative producer in Sambuca di Sicilia, Western Sicily, they work with a collective of small growers to produce quality-driven wines. The Cantine Cellaro Syrah Lumà is made from 100% Syrah grapes, grown on the hillside vineyards of Sambuca. The grapes are macerated on the skins for 10 to 12 days in order to extract flavour, colour, and tannins into the wine. After this, the wine is fermented in stainless steel, where the finished wine continues to mature before bottling and release.
