Managed by Serena Palazzolo and her sons who take the utmost care for the very highest quality grapes. The fruit for the Sauvignon Salici is grown on 0.6 hectares of the Rosazzo hill vineyards. The vines are trained and pruned using the Guyot system and the grapes are harvested in the first ten days of September. The resulting wine ferments and ages for ten months in 225 litre French oak barriques.
10 hectares of south-facing, sun-exposed vineyards comprise the soul of the Ronco Del Gnemiz winery. Situated on Friuli Venezia-Giulia’s multi-layered, mineral-rich and uniquely prized sandstone soil, ‘ponca’, its perhaps of little surprise that Ronco Del Gnemiz has been one of the North-East Italian region’s leading wineries for over a decade. But there is more than land to thank for that – in fact, the management of Serena Palazzo has taken Ronca Del Gnemiz to new heights.
