Bright, fresh strawberries and floral hints of violet jump out, with a touch of licorice adding some depth. It’s got a nice balance, with smooth, juicy fruit, a little peppery kick, and a solid structure that’s medium-to-full bodied. The finish is super juicy and savory, with soft, velvety tannins.
Piedmont has long been at the heart of our wine journey. Our love for the region spreads far beyond the famous and attention-grabbing wines of Barolo and Barbaresco. In recent years, we have paid particular attention to Alto-Piemonte and the continual improvement of wines coming out of the sub-region. Alto-Piemonte is located in the north of Piedmont, nestled in the foothills of the Alps and, for many years the ethereal, Nebbiolo-based wines produced here have taken a back seat to their more powerful cousins produced further south in the Langhe. More recently, though, the numerous appellations situated around the Sesia river are receiving the recognition they deserve for distinctive, terroir-driven wines of great quality and indisputable value. Small, artisan wineries in the area craft beautiful expressions of Nebbiolo, and the difference in character from one small town to the next is extraordinary, unlike anywhere else.
