Sicilian sunshine in a glass. Peaches, candied lemon peel and apricots with lively freshness and a savoury finish. From Cantina Cellaro, a cooperative producer based in the province of Agrigento, Western Sicily comes this cracking wine from indigenous Sicilian grape variety Grillo. Hilly landscapes, hot summer sun and cool sea breezes make for these vibrant and concentrated wines, full of Mediterranean character. Absolutely delicious!
One of Italy’s many amazing cooperative producers, Cantine Cellaro is made up of around 1000 small grape growers. This 100% Grillo wine is from Sambuca di Sicilia, an area which has been producing wines for centuries. Grillo is particularly suited to Sicily because it thrives in the hot, dry climate, never getting overripe and jammy like other varietals can/would. The grapes are softly pressed, after which the must is fermented in stainless steel. Refinement also takes place in stainless steel, before bottling and release.
Cantine Cellaro Grillo Lumà is a wine to enjoy chilled down, it works great as an aperitif wine or perfectly with fish, shellfish, salads, light pasta dishes, quiche, couscous. The kind of wine you want to bring out on a picnic, enjoy with friends, soaking up the sun and the fresh air!
Surrounded by stunning mountains and the beautiful lake Arancio, Cantine Cellaro winery is located in Sambuca di Sicilia, southwest of Palermo, in the Agrigento region of Sicily. The naturally beautiful landscape and incredible local produce make this an idyllic place to visit. It is also rich in local history, Sicilians have been producing grapes and wine here for centuries.
