The island of Pantelleria is home to one of Italy’s greatest wines, Passito di Pantelleria. Made from sun-dried Zibibbo (also known as Moscato di Alessandria) grapes which are fermented into this enchanting dessert wine.

Actually closer to the coast of Tunisia than it is Sicily, Pantelleria is Italy’s southernmost DOC, located in the centre of the Sicilian channel. The arid landscape, with hot, dry climatic conditions and volcanic soils provide the perfect combination for the production of these intriguing, rich, and concentrated sweet wines. Solidea winery was set up by Giacomo D'Ancona, whose family has a long history of winemaking going back to the 1900s. This small artisanal winery is a passion project for the family, which is made up of just four hectares of vines on Pantelleria, where they work exclusively with Zibibbo.

Solidea Passito di Pantelleria is indulgent and luscious. Amber in colour, with rich honey, marmalade, date, and sultana flavours. If you have never tried a Passito di Pantelleria before and you are a fan of dessert wines then this is a must-try.
