Centopassi is a social cooperative which is part of the Libera Terra movement, who work with confiscated mafia land, making lawful work for locals with better pay and benefits such as health care and pensions, whilst rejuvenating the land into sustainable agriculture and most importantly a corruption free environment. Named after a true story, turned film based on a political activist who opposed the Sicilian Mafia, ‘I Cento Passi’ means 100 steps, it represents the distance between protagonist Peppino Impastato and that of the house of renowned mafia boss Tano Badalamenti.

Centopassi’s stunning high-altitude vineyards are located in the upper Belice Corleonese, just south of Palermo in Western Sicily. They farm the 94 hectares of vineyard land planted with both indigenous and international grape varieties, according to organic practices for which they are certified. Not only is this an incredibly brave cause, but that aside, the wines stand-out as exceptionally good quality and value. From Centopassi Giato Rosso and Centopassi Giato Bianco, which make for delightful daily drinkers, to their special single vineyard wines which really are some of Sicily’s best. We proudly represent these beautiful Sicilian wines in the UK.
