Tenuta di Tavignano is a quality focused, family run winery in the heart of the Marche. Sustainability has always been a huge part of their philosophy; they implement eco-friendly practices where possible and are certified organic. Tenuta di Tavignano Rosso Piceno Cervidoni is a blend of 70% Montepulciano and 30% Sangiovese grapes which are carefully selected, and hand harvested from their hillside vineyards west of Ancona. Whilst macerating on the skins the must (unfermented grape juice) goes through fermentation in stainless steel tank, before being put into Slavonian oak barrels for 6 months of ageing.
A superb Italian blend full of juicy plum, cherry jam and spice, really well balanced and round, with a concentrated finish. This is calling for some roasted meats and all the trimmings! Transform your Sunday dinner with this delightful Rosso Piceno wine.
Tenuta di Tavignano is a family run winery located in the heart of the Marche region, on the Eastern coast of Italy. Today the estate is managed by Ondine de la Feld, who since taking over from her uncle in 2014, has made huge progress in establishing this estate as a top Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi producer. Verdicchio is without doubt one of Italy’s most important native grape varieties and nowhere is it more prevalent than in the Marche. A vigorous grape, that thrives in these hilly vineyards of clay and limestone soils, and coastal influences from the proximity to sea. From light and easy drinking dry whites to more complex examples which transform phenomenally with age, this versatile variety has become an iconic Italian style.
