A case of six red wines, all either certified or practicing organic.

The producers of wines in this case are all pioneers, going against the grain in traditional wine regions to produce wines that have the utmost respect for the environment. All expertly crafted, this case takes you on a journey around the world and through many different wine styles, often with a slightly wild edge that we love.

2019 Chianti 'Biskero', Salcheto - Tuscany, Italy
This organic Chianti spends little time in oak, unlike many of its Tuscan siblings. This gives the Sangiovese grape the chance to express its pure red cherry and plum character and a delicate spiced finish. Smooth, ripe and fresh this will accompany a Pasta al Ragù just perfectly.

2019 Primitivo, Caiaffa - Puglia, Italy
Primitivo is not synonymous with elegant and floral red fruit character. But this beautiful example coming from Puglia's cooler, northern coast is exactly that. Wild strawberries and dried rose petals play with a subtle vanilla note and mouth-watering freshness. This never fails to impress.

2018 Rosso Piceno 'Cervidoni', Tenuta di Tavignano - Marche, Italy
Ripe, juicy, warm, and smooth; everything you can expect from this red blend from eastern Italy. A blend of Sangiovese and Montepulciano, this fills the mouth with ripe plum and cherry character with some cassis notes coming through on the finish. Balanced and round with a concentrated finish, this is calling for some roasted meats.

2017 St Laurent, Johanneshof Reinisch - Thermenregion, Austria
An Austrian red grape known for its forest fruit characteristics, this has notes of bramble fruit and sour cherry. A slight smoky edge add a layer of complexity that is balanced perfectly by a fresh acidity. The fruit character is starting to develop slightly into more meaty, earthy notes that will pair well with mushrooms and game.

2018 Montepulciano d'Abruzzo 'Malandrino', Cataldi Madonna - Abruzzo, Italy
Going against the grain in one of Italy's oldest red wine regions, Luigi Cataldi Madonna was the first person to make an unoaked Montepulciano d;'Abruzzo. Usually the ripe, juicy and fresh fruit character in wines from this region are complemented (or overshadowed as Luigi would argue) by spicy oak influences. But not here! The fruit sings and sings out of the glass for an intense and enveloping experiences that truly fills the mouth. The beautiful acidity makes sure the wine is balanced and oh so moreish!

2019 Nero d'Avola-Perricone Giato Rosso, Centopassi - Sicily, Italy
Made from grapes cultivated on land that has been reclaimed from the Italian Mafia, this Sicilian red blend is full of blackberry character with hints of black plum and peppered spice. There is a balsamic note that accompanies the fruit that gives way to well-integrated tannins and a smooth, lingering finish.
