About the wine

The essence of Etna in a glass. A stunningly pure wine from Sicily's treasured indigenous Carricante grape. Benanti is an iconic producer, who have built a reputation for wines of typicity, character and elegance. This is a wine that never fails to delight - delicate yet rich in mouthfeel, mineral and aromatic with ripe green apple notes.

From high altitude, organically farmed vineyards on the eastern slopes of Mount Etna, the eastern coast of Sicily. This is a 100% Carricante wine grown on volcanic, sandy soils which are rich in minerals. Benanti Etna Bianco is one of their flagship wines. The grapes are hand-harvested to ensure purity of the fruit, de-stemmed and then softly pressed, before transferring to stainless steel tanks. As with all their wines, the Etna Bianco is fermented using indigenous yeasts, for around 15 days. The wine then matures for a few months on the fine lees which gives added texture and complexity. After which it is bottled and released after 2 to 3 months further refinement.

About the wine

A beautiful dry Italian Etna Bianco wine with flavours of pear and apple fruit, refreshing acidity and a lovely long mineral finish. Versatile when pairing with food, it goes beautifully with seafood, chicken, white fish, grilled Mediterranean vegetables, and soft cheeses.
