The Chablis region in northern Burgundy and the exquisite, finessed Chardonnay wines produced therein need little introduction. At the forefront of Chablis production is a cooperative that, since 1923, has been blazing a trail for this model of wine-making. Today comprised of over 300 growers, La Chablisienne produces a range of Chablis wines unmatched by any other producer. In fact, they produce a greater number of different wines than any other Chablis producer, but, what makes them extra special is their dedication to consistent quality in spite of their size. Initially brought together to help the disparate growers make best use of their land, La Chablisienne is turned to today for their iconic production of thirty wines, spanning the quality pyramid and including their famed Château Grenouilles Grand Cru.

Chablis’s unique mineral character exists thanks to the Kimmeridgian soils found in parts of the region and very few other places in the world. The land has proven itself to be exceptional for the growing of the noble Chardonnay grape and producing wines of absolute quality and unrivalled elegance. Only through La Chablisienne’s production can we explore in some depth how the different microclimates and terroirs within Chablis express themselves in the bottle and their boundary-pushing production offers value for money at every level.
