A case of six white wines.
Any wine drinkers that enjoy opening a bottle and observing the interplay of flavours and aromas in their glass? All of the bottles in this case develop as they open, with savoury, herbal and fruit notes all at play, accompanied by beautiful freshness and great concentration.
2018 Pouilly Fumé, François le Saint - Loire Valley, France
From organically grown vineyards in the Loire valley comes this outstanding Sauvignon Blanc based wine. It has typical gooseberry, white peach and crushed stone character. This works as an aperitif and with light vegetable-based starters. Try it also with fresh or semi mature goats cheese for a delicious combination.
2019 Fiano, Pietracupa - Campania - Italy
The talented winemaker Sabino Loffredo has gained a reputation within Italy and abroad, for producing some of the best Greco and Fiano wines in the region. A robust and expansive nose with refined notes of jasmine, golden delicious apples, dried petals and a strong steeliness. In the mouth, a substantial and concentrated palate with marked acidity, this is a fragrant and flavourful white wine, with aromas ranging from citrus to mango through to magical nuances of honey and of citrus that echo throughout the fine, long and slightly almond finish
2019 Kerner, Cantina Valle Isarco - Alto-Adige, Italy
A stunning white from the height of the Dolomites in Northern Italy. Fresh, intense, spiced and aromatic. Stone fruit flavours of peach and apricot. Very expressive, well balanced acidity with great length.
2019 Rotgipfler, Johanneshof Reinisch - Thermenregion, Austria
Warmed by the thermal spas running underground, the whites from Thermenregion develop magically ripe and honeyed fruit characters. This has notes of honeyed lemon, dried peach and fresh apricot all in one. On the finish it almost sparkles with character as the warmth and roundness lingers in the mouth.
2018 Erbaluce di Caluso 'Cariola', Ferrando - Piedmont, Italy
A somewhat unknown grape variety from northern Piedmont, this white wine is very generous. Freshly cut yellow fruits combine with dried herbs and ripe blossom notes. This is a selection of Ferrando's best Erbaluce grapes so there is great concentration and length here. Perfect with white fish!
2019 Pinot Bianco Tradition, Cantina Terlano - Alto Adige, Italy
A hallmark Pinot Bianco from the expert white wine-making cooperative, Cantina Terlano. This offers so much in the glass, flesh peach and nectarine, firm lemon zest, honeysuckle, bitter almond and a dazzling minerality that they have become so well-known for. This will pair with asparagus, white pasta sauces and creamy fish dishes perfectly.
